October 2018 marks three years since Scott and I started working together. It began with my handling marketing and social media business pages and public relations. After just a few weeks, Scott told me about his charity called 'handyman helper for the day'. He said that he donates a coupon to local causes & organizations for fundraisers but his desire was to help children with special needs and their families. We brainstormed for days and created a flyer to circulate throughout south jersey. We came across so many special needs families that could use this day of service. He committed to pick one family per month and provide home repairs free of charge. We connected with local vendors who donated much needed materials as our projects became bigger. Projects included wheelchair ramps, stair railings and other home safety improvements, giving peace of mind to parents and caretakers. We met so many amazing families who remain near and dear to our hearts. Although we were getting so busy with the service to families, he continued donations of coupon fundraiser to numerous causes. Scott was featured on the Today show home makeover edition, South Jersey Magazine's man of the year and now this October received 2018 Humanitarian Award from SJ volunteers. With more awareness of his efforts, Scott is able to help even more families while getting more sponsors on board. Our goal is make a difference in south jersey with the spirit of community service. Everyone can find a way to give back in their own special way!
